Festival of Trees

 I attended the lovely Festival of Trees this afternoon and saw this lovely tablescape entitled Silver Spoon.  Of course I was attracted to it because of the mix of natural elements and the unexpected use of blue.  Mercury glass add just the right sparkle.  I think this could be interpreted for use on a side table also so as not to impede the flow of conversation at the table.

Wild About Books

Looking for a beautiful idea for your next get together? Look no further! This beautiful tablescape uses one of my favorite color combinations- brown, white and green and is the setting for a wonderful book club luncheon. So many wonderful details; candlelight, the use of the cloche, flowers and fabric covered books to name a few. It certainly makes me want to read! This setting was designed and photographed by MaureenGeorgia as she hosted her annual book club party. Go view her album if you just can't get enough and need to see more!

Setting the Stage with A TableScape

I just finished reading Colin Cowie's book "Colin Cowie Chic, The guide to life as it should be" and in the 1st chapter- A Gracious Home, Public Spaces he states that if life is theater, then his living room is one place where he sets the stage. On his coffee table, he states that he might display a pile of books he enjoys, or a group of dazzling crystal candles around a low vase packed abundantly with flowers; or a tall, thin vase with a single bloom or a tropical leaf. The point being to create harmony by choosing three or four elements, such as books, candles, and a floral or decorative objet d'art.

Well, I wanted to see this in action so I started through my stack of magazines and took some pics to post of different tablescapes and even though they are all different i.e. different tables, different accessories, etc. they all follow the same point- harmony through the elements.
