Woodland Table

I am delighted to share photos that one of our new happy dwelling friends shared with us! Robin Plume purchased the Ruffle Cap Carved Mushrooms for her Thanksgiving table and I must say- she set a beautiful table.

I find the lighting fixture just lovely!

Natural elements, wood and silver are always a winning combination!

Did you notice the delightful mice and birds?

 What a grand candelabra!

The floral arrangement adds just the right touch of color, don't you think?

My fave ---  A dreamy fall woodland scene!

The silver bird's nest is divine!

Robin, I am delighted that you are delighted and thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with us!

Garden Party

Sometimes we neglect the outside of our homes because we are so busy decorating the inside. But a spruced up outdoor area always lends additional living space for your family fun and entertaining.

Have fun and banish the front porch, deck, patio or balcony blahs!

Beverage Dispenser for Sweet Tea- The Real Hillbilly Heroin?

The Real Hillbilly Heroin- I read this characterization in a recent magazine article about my beloved beverage and couldn't help but laugh. Being a southern woman, sweet tea is expected to be offered to any guest who graces the door. It is pure southern culture that pours from the pitcher. I can't fathom eating fried chicken or peas and cornbread without a tall glass of the iced sweet stuff. Hmmm.... well, maybe it is addictive! I'll bet it would be even sweeter to serve it at the next gathering from one of these Metro Beverage Dispensers from Roost. Sweet tea anyone?

Pretty Porcelain

Lovely handmade porcelain pieces arrived today from ROOST and I started thinking about how they were made, so I decided to do a little reading on porcelain and thought I would share.

Porcelain is made from kaolin, a clay formed from decomposed granite. Kaolin is a white primary clay-that is, a clay found in the earth in the place where it was formed. Porcelain is white and often translucent.

Glazes
Historically, unglazed pottery has always been more common than glazed pottery. Glaze is a form of glass, consisting basically of glass-forming minerals (silica or boron) combined with stiffeners (such as clay and fluxes) and melting agents (such as lead or soda).

I find it amazing that such beautiful and delicate things can be created from the earth.

These tealight holders and more can be purchased at our online shop Neutral Dwelling.
