In the Architectural Digest this month, there is a feature on the Phinda Getty House which is a lodge in South Africa. The photos were so intriguing to me- all of the textures in the interiors which were designed by Chris Browne of Johannesburg, South Africa. I couldn't find a website for him but if anyone knows of one and would like to share that would be great.My interest in Chris's quote concerning the interiors, "We relied on texture rather than color" started my research. What I found on flickr was a treasure trove of photos of many different lodges in Africa by Drive South Africa
All of these interiors exemplify some of the most wonderful uses of texture with little or no color that I have ever seen! Take a look at this textural feast for your eyes and notice the use of stone, wood, leather, wicker, glass and more!
