Naturally Inspired

I am loving the new introduction of Seasons, a hand-pressed leaf wall covering collection from Phillip Jeffries, LTD. According to their website, leaves harvested from silk plants are hand dried and laid randomly atop the paper. A metallic finish is then hand applied. Wouldn't this be a beautiful wall covering in a dining room with a lovely dark wooden table?

Commissioned Furniture by Tommy Miller

Having a commissioned piece of furniture is a keepsake for your home. It is your concept or idea translated into reality so it is an exciting and rewarding experience for both you as the client and the craftsman. Tommy Miller is a wonderful resource for creating your unique piece of furniture that is family heirloom quality.

Here is an example of a media center that he has just completed for a client. It is made from North American hardwood maple with African blood wood pulls and a reclaimed yellow pine top. Isn't is beautiful? I am also including a picture prior to the finishes being applied and the glass being installed.

How can you commission a piece of furniture you ask? Call Tommy at his workshop at 318-376-6206 to begin the creative process.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

When you live in the south you don't get much snow. So in Louisiana we have found a way to make our own....

Step 1- Pull up a chair

Step 2- Have a fork in hand

Step 3- Dig in and let the powder start to fly!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas as I wipe the powder from my lips, face, shirt, pants & shoes!
